The Senate report on the CIA interrogation program was a long, dense and complex document. Our main stories on the program were made more accessible with digital first, shareable posts that also acted as stand-alone data points on the key findings, and the history of CIA torture and abuse. Along with a timeline, graphics and mini-explainers, we clipped screen grabs so that our readers could easily share the most dramatic excerpts on social media. We found multiple ways to break down the story, combining narrative, graphics, data and photography to offer eye-catching entry points into our coverage.
