In a three-part investigation, ABC News’ “Abortion: On the Brink” examined the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022, talking to 18 women who said their health care was directly and significantly affected by resulting state abortion bans and restrictions, bringing some to the brink of death. We also spoke with physicians in states with abortion bans and restrictions in place, illuminating the reality of how the sometimes confusing new regulations affect the health care they can provide, even when their patient’s life may be in danger, and may also jeopardize the physician’s professional welfare. The results were presented in an ABC News Digital package of five stories and exclusive digital videos.
