This is a University of Montana School of Journalism capstone, called the Native News Project. Each year for the past 27 years, our students have produced a project on the Native American nations that live in Montana. Each year is a different topic. In the spring of 2019, students produced stories, photographs, graphics and multimedia pieces on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
There are student news and photo editors, reporters who each report and write, photographers who create stills and multimedia pieces and designers who build the website and produce a printed magazine, which is distributed in several newspapers in the state.
The project is supervised by two University of Montana School of Journalism faculty.
